Diamond Affiliate Pat Crosby tells us how she achieved Diamond status and is building a successful Vitamark business!
My Diamond Story by Pat Crosby When I joined Vitamark International, I was reeling from a horrendous paycut slash from another company that I had worked for 7 years. My group volume in that company still averages $250,000.00 US/month. Their products are great. What I did NOT know, is that the payplan is a horrible fiasco at the expense of the hardworking and naive distributors who are never taught to look at the business aspect of a company they join. People had joined because they liked a product a friend or neighbor introduced them to and they could get products cheaper by joining. After the 9th pay plan change (cut) in 11 years, and the elimination of the car bonus program without replacing it with something else, my income from that company was, in one fell swoop, slashed about 80%.
I LOVE the MLM industry and with a desperate longing to find a good company to align with and re-create my wonderful MLM lifestyle. I studied and interviewed Affiliates and I narrowed my choice down to 5 companies with good products that I liked. But at that time, I did not know how important it was to understand the business side and comp plan payout schedule and to search out the track record of the company owners and management - their integrity, business acumen and skill, and global experience. That's when my REAL education about MLM began. Out of the blue (!) I received an email: "WHO Stole Your Bonus Check? And WHY!" My sponsor and mentors Michael & Linda Dlouhy have set a new industry gold standard with their free mentoring program. That program is what caught my attention when I received an invitation for a free teleseminar called "WHO stole your bonus check? And Why!" So I started learning how to mentor and teach people the fundamental and elemental business facts of life that this system explains. After all, I wouldn't want to see anybody else go through the awful learning curve I went through - that good products are just not enough to have a successful lifestyle in the MLM industry. One needs so much more - company management integrity and experience, honest reliable field-tested leaders, exceptional products, fair-priced not hyper jacked-up priced products, a fair and equitable pay plan... for starters. A culture of respect and mutual support for ALL players. I set about learning the business FACTS OF LIFE of comp plans and company management track records and the integrity record of the company owners.
And I began interviewing and examining companies and potential uplines for a group I could build with in confidence and assurance that I would get paid - and continue to get paid - for the benefits I would bring to a company and an organization. One leader in another company even offered me a sweetheart placement in her organization with a pre-built downline for me to expand. But as I applied my new found knowledge to this "opportunity's" payplan, I found it seriously lacking in payout capability compared to other companies So "Thanks, No Thanks!" I am NOT going down THAT road again... the one of lots of work for little - if any - payout. Funny how so many payplans have all kinds of CLAUSES that disqualify you from receiving all or chunks of what would be your paycheck. So when I interviewed the awesome industry gold standard upline, Michael & Linda Dlouhy, Art Jonak, and the owners of Vitamark International, Chairman Big AL Tom Schreiter, President David Bertrand, I thought maybe I had died and gone to a new MLM heaven. In a new galaxy. When I compared the pay plan payout of Vitamark vs other companies payout plan I was considering, I was amazed at the incredible and shocking gap in the different industry payouts for the same group sales volume.
I also discovered the HUGE gap in the number of reps one needed to find and train to create the same bottom line paycheck for myself. Only 300-400 on auto-ship to generate the same paycheck that it took 10,000 for in other payplans. That was too much to even imagine in my pitiful state of diminished income. With some trepidation and a great deal of hesitation, I began to learn the Vitamark payplan and how the leaders were building this incredible company. I began learning and experiencing the Vitamark product line and began to know first-hand the power and capability of the product line. And came to know of the tremendous capability and industry respect that company co-owner Jana Mitcham garners for her brilliance and mastery of superb product formulation. I have also come to know how highly she is regarded by her peers and professional health people in this industry. Vitamark co-owner Jana is also truly gold standard. And first class. Long standing aches and pains began to clear up as I consumed the LimuPlus juice. My neighbors and friends experienced similar great results. And started dropping by my house regularly to get another bottle. And over time to start working with the other Vitamark products. Equally important, the ache and pain in my heart from the other company's devastatingly disregard for the little mom-and-pop individuals who build that company began to heal. My confidence began to grow. And also my check. My faith in this industry began to heal, as I watched most carefully the conduct and behavior of the people involved with Vitamark International and saw such integrity I had not seen before in business. ANY business. For the huge volume I was generating in another company that payed me less than a pittance of peanuts, the Vitamark pay plan would pay me - well I hesitate to say lest you think I exaggerate - MEGABUCKS more income on the same volume. Even up to 30 times more!!!
A real shocking wake-up happened when my check in Vitamark with a starter group of just 35 members equaled my check with that other company that had a downline organization of over 6000 members... of which at least 2000+ ordered in any given month. Needless to say, my belief began to grow... even though my suspicious and wounded mind took longer to catch up with the facts of Vitamark's extraordinary pay plan, and ethical and supportive behavior of my upline and company personal. Outstanding business ethics exhibited by the Vitamark principals and leaders were frosting on the cake. One of my front row members decided to do a lot of retailing and go on a sponsoring challenge. I partnered with him and with my upline, doing 3 ways, and going out on retailing calls to local stores and individuals. I went 3 Star Diamond during this enthusiastic run... and couldn't believe the size of those Diamond Checks :))) I was back in the money :))) And with such a little group I had! Things got even more amazing at the Vitamark Convention. We Diamonds were treated so outrageously well... taken out to a gorgeous VIP dinner in a chauffeured limousine. We were treated as honored royalty that evening - and throughout the weekend - by the Vitamark staff, the Vitamark leadership, and the other Vitamark affiliates, upline, downline, and crossline. It is humbling and healing to be associated with and work with such great people as we find associated with Vitamark International.
In retrospect, it was a really good thing that the other company slashed and burned my and the other distributors paychecks. Had they not done that, I would have continued to be in the contented cow pasture... never knowing what a great grazing field existed just a little further down the road. What greater company and what amazingly greater checks awaited one willing to do the journey. Thank you Vitamark International and all the great people associated with this company. ***** Epilogue This year, my story The Little Girl Who Wanted To Fly, was accepted and published in Chicken Soup For The Network Marketer's Soul: an amazing, inspiring and heartening collection of stories of all the good and great things that have happened to people who became involved with this industry. I cry when I read the beautiful stories of transformation and salvation in that book. However, with my opened eyes of wisdom, now, I know HOW important it is to be educated in the business facts of life of the MLM industry. Or, you can work your little heart out and buns off, and then be taken for a ride and dumped off somewhere if you don't learn better.
