7.20.08 Death & Dying. When a Team Member Passes Over

When A Team Member Passes Over - In Loving Memory of our Dear Friend & Volunteer Mentor, Ken Huggins.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello Friends,
This week, one of our most beloved volunteer mentors crossed the line - The BIG Line. Ken Huggins was feeling fine, just threw up something, and an hour and a half later was on the other side of the great divide.
Tonight, we will be sharing stories of remembrance of Ken. For those of you new to our weekly Sunday night live trainings, Ken - along with Dwight Baker - took care of our sound engineering behind the scenes.
And sometimes, we were totally blessed to have Ken Huggins speak up - too - with his newly evolving wisdom and caring as he has been learning and growing as one of our volunteer mentors.
Already we miss Ken's gentle and loving presence. Yet our shock is tempered by knowing he has gone into a lighter realm.
Please join us LIVE tonight for a GENERIC discussion of how we - as leaders and team members - respond when one of our very own crosses over.
Here is the call info.
One of our most esteemed volunteer mentors, who you hear every Saturday night on our weekly core training, Richard Dennis, shared his beautiful remembrance of how the team rallied and supported Richard and his wife Cheryl and other family members when their dear son Garth passed over last year.
Here is Richard's contribution to our conversation - via email
Our son Garth passed on June 10th, 2007.
The outpouring of support from Success Team Builders was a great
comfort to us. We had dozens and dozens and dozens of email and
letters. Some had made photos of Garth from a webpage to pay tribute
to him. Many shared their own pain and understanding.
It was really tough for us and, to be honest, it still is. I think of
him every day. I cry for our loss at some time almost every day.
It greatly touched us to have the support of those who knew Garth and
those who didn't, and especially to feel the empathy from so many in
our group.
And, of course, we had no insurance to cover Garth's funeral expenses.
You and others were very kind to help us with that expense.
It was all a great comfort to us. Cheryl & I are so grateful to
everyone in Success Team Builders.
And we're greatly saddened to now lose Ken Huggins. He had a huge
heart, and a great sense of humor. He was a Green's Green. I'll miss
him a lot.
Thanks, Pat.
Richard Dennis
