9.7.08 LISTEN. CALL NOTES from Lynn. 5 LESSONS - How to Treat People....

LISTEN HERE:

CALL NOTES from Lynn Rothfuss:

Good evening and welcome to the Pat Crosby Leadership Hour this Sunday the 7th of September 2008.
This is Lynn Rothfuss your Host from New Jersey.

Before we begin I want to say a special hello to Diamond Ruth Bradford. Ruth is a faithful listener.
While at work every Monday morning, Ruth listeners with a head set as she does her work at the post office.
How faithful is that? That's pretty faithful! While at convention Ruth approached me and said how much she enjoys our leadership hour and the training we provide.

It feels great to hear first hand that others are being serviced by our leadership. Thank you Ruth for sharing!

How proud I am Ruth, that you and your husband reached Diamond Level.

While I'm on the subject of convention, let me express a few thoughts of what I got out of convention.
I went for 3 reasons. #1 reason, to re-sponsor myself. #2 reason to be with my down line and set an example. The bonding that continues is unexplainable. #3 reason was to be with Michael and Linda Dlouhy and the rest of Success Team Builders, who by the way made up 80% of convention attendees. That should give some indication of the team Michael has built.

I walked away more charged than ever before. A few of the highlights were the New Freedom Magazine. WOW, what a tool to help explain your business! It's like having a small flip chart
to show step by step in plain English what Vitamark and Network Marketing is all about.

Each one received a copy. You can now order the magazines on auto ship. Even though leaders who are in the book, personally autographed my copy, I choose to hand it to a qualified prospect, a ticket agent, at Continental Airlines counter. This was a better decision, than hang on to the magazine for the personal autographs.

Michael the genius and strategist that he is, bought all 8,000 copies and rode the load home with him back to Florida for the team to purchase. Michael used the same carrier to bring the Red Mustang to convention. By the way, the winner was our own lovable, coach and mentor, a favorite to many, Sarah Thompson. You might want to drop Sarah a note, email, or call to congratulate her.

Also at convention was a surprise new mini package of Limu Plus Travel size bottles. 8 bottles in a 4 ounce  plastic container. It's so wonderful Vitamark listens to our needs. I know this will be a big hit to share as samples with others as well as a travel pack when on the the go. It will be easier to store in baggage instead of being without Limu. The big bottle was not always easy to carry when traveling especially since 911 restrictions.

Another nice surprise was  a smaller packaging for Crave.  It's a folded card board holding 10 packets of Crave. You can now share or sell 10 packets at a time instead of whole box of 50. This makes it easy and convenient.

On my way home I sat next to a  junior high school student, Kyle, on his way back to private school in the East. I noticed a can of energy drink in his hand. Yes you know the drill, I got his information and permission to send a 10 pack of Crave Tuesday morning. I'm looking forward to speaking with Kyle and his pals this coming week to hear their reaction. I also slipped him a chocolate chip cookie during plane flight, and another cookie into package sent. Kyle enjoyed cookie and asked the cost. He thought that was reasonable. Will be interesting to hear their feedback.

It was most gratifying to see so many cross the stage at a new pin level. My was I proud of my friends! On a personal note, I wasn't going to cross the stage myself, because I wasn't happy with my own pin level. At the last moment after being with so many winners, I decided that was not a leadership mindset. So I crossed the stage a 2 star platinum. Next year it will be Diamond! "If it's going to be, it's up to me!"

We heard some wonderful speakers all weekend long. Hope Vitamark records all speeches next year so many  more can listen to MP3 files at their leisure.
Vitamark gave an incentive a month before convention to help people get to Texas. Sponsor so many Platinum Pluses and your room was paid for. Knowing Vitamark, always raising the bar, they will probably do something to help us push up and get to convention again next year. That would not surprise me!

I look forward to meeting more of you at convention next year. You just have to decide that's where you want to be.

OK, now on with tonight's special guest, my friend, one of my favorite leaders. This man is respected as a trainer, patient, kind, and understanding. It's always a privilege to introduce Rick Berry from Pennsylvania

Rick I look forward to what you will share with our leaders, as you did with me the other day. You were so excited to speak about the # 1 top secret top producers do.

Rick is getting married shortly to Betty Shine. Any date yet?
Rick thank you for taking time away from your wonderful family to join us this evening. I appreciate you!

Thank you to all our listeners and sound engineers. This is Lynn Rothfuss,  have a blessed week, until we meet again be safe and be happy. Light some one else's world and give them your smile.

Five (5) lessons about the way we treat people.

1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.

During my second month of college, our professor
gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student
and had breezed through the questions until I read
the last one:

"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the
cleaning woman several times. She was tall,
dark-haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name?

I handed in my paper, leaving the last question
blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if
the last question would count toward our quiz grade.

"Absolutely, " said the professor. "In your careers,
you will meet many people.  All are significant They
deserve your attention and care, even if all you do
is smile and say "hello."

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her
name was Dorothy.

2. - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain

One night, at 11:30 p.m., an older African American
woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway
trying to endure a lashing rain storm. Her car had
broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally
unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960's. The man
took her to safety, helped her get assistance and
put her into a taxicab.

She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his
address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a
knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a
giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A
special note was attached.

It read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway
the other night. The rain drenched not only my
clothes, but also my spirits.  Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
husband's bedside just before he passed away... God
bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving
others."

Sincerely,
Mrs Nat King Cole.

3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those
who serve.

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less,
a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and
sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in
front of him.

"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and
studied the coins in it.

"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired.

By now more people were waiting for a table and the
waitress was growing impatient.

"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins.

"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on
the table and walked away The boy finished the ice
cream, paid the cashier and left.  When the waitress
came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the
table.  There, placed neatly beside the empty dish,
were two nickels and five pennies..

You see,  he couldn't  have the sundae, because he had
to have enough left to leave her a tip.

4 - Fourth Important Lesson. - The obstacle in Our Path.

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a
roadway.  Then he hid himself and watched to see if
anyone would remove the huge rock.  Some of the
king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by
and simply walked around it.  Many loudly blamed the
King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did
anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of
vegetables.  Upon approaching the boulder, the
peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the
stone to the side of the road.  After much pushing
and straining, he finally succeeded. After the
peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed
a purse lying in the road where the boulder ha d
been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note
from the King indicating that the gold was for the
person who removed the boulder from the roadway.  The
peasant learned what many of us never understand!

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve
our condition.

5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts...

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who
was suffering from a rare & serious disease.  Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood
transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had
miraculously survived the same disease and had
developed the antibodies needed to com bat the
illness.  The doctor explained the situation to her
little brother, and asked the little boy if he would
be willing to give his blood to his sister.

I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will save
her."  As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed
next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing
the color returning to her cheek. Then his face
grew pale and his smile faded.

He looked up at the doctor and asked with a
trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her.

TONIGHT: Lynn Rothfuss co-anchors with Rick Berry.

NOTES FROM LYNN ROTHFUSS:

Hi every one and good evening.

I enjoy sharing a story and poems to illustrate a point. My most favorite poem, is one I received by fax in 2001.

The poem entitled" The Masters" is so powerful and every word has special meaning for me.

Here's hoping it becomes one of your favorite, because as you speak this, you begin to realize you are taking to your soul and spirit. You are speaking your reality out loud.

The Masters

Today is a great day and I have the opportunity to show up as the best me ever!

I am an irresistible magnet with the absolute power to attract into my life

everything that I desire. My life is a huge success!

I am committed to constant and never-ending personal improvement,

and I take massive action steps to create the future, as I want it.

I will do whatever it takes to become the winner I know I can be.

My beliefs create my reality! I choose robust health, abundant wealth,
constant happiness and eternal love. I attract, heal and positively
influence the lives of people in my community.

I think big thoughts, relish small pleasures and handle all setbacks gracefully.

I give thanks for the opportunity to serve humanity and I willingly accept
the rewards being sent to me by an abundant universe.

I am deeply gratefulfor all I create and receive. My life is now in total balance and I am a MASTER!

WOW! I don't know about you, but every time I read this I get the chills.

This is so powerful as a daily guide!

So, how does one become a Master?

When ever I share I find it helpful to connect the dots and also show a wayto do the thing I'm talking about.

To become a Master, one way is to be part of a master mind group. MichaelDlouhy shares his 30 day cleanse with every one willing to commit to their personalgrowth every Wednesday at 3 PM and again 8 PM.

I was on the 30 day cleanse and being blue got unfocused and jumped off.

I find it's now time to connect back to the cleanse, my personal growth and business need the infusion.

So for those of you not on the 30 day mental cleanse and those of you, like me, who were on and jumped off, I encourage you to hop back on.

CALL NOTES LYNN ROTHFUSS BNI & AM BIZ Lynn Rothfuss Sunday February 3, 2008 Promoting and Marketing in your Local Market

BNI Business Network International
Business Word of Mouth Referral System

The benefits that BNI have taught me is:

1. How to talk and share what products and services I offer, since
Vitamark has 40 products, each week I describe the benefits of one product a week.

2. You give a 60 second snap shot of who you are, what type of
referral your looking for, the benefits of your product or service.

3. Has taught me to know more about all my products, and what the benefits are for each product.

4. You don't sell to chapter members, you teach them what your looking
for as a good referral for your business

5. You learn to do one on ones over a cup of coffee or lunch. Very
Important. The one on ones, build the relationship that leads to more business.

Bottom Line:
This is more about Educating and Servicing your future customers than hard selling them. Every one has a sphere of influence of 250 people. When you educate, build a relationship, many of members do become a customer and refer to not only the 250 people they know, but every one they meet along life's way.

We carry on us at all times a vinyl business card holder with all of
our members cards to hand out.

AM BIZ- Another Business Networking Group
Through the County Chamber of Commerce or Local City Chamber of Commerce.

AM BIZ in Warren County where I live, is run by our Warren County Chamber of
Commerce. They might have a different name than AM BIZ, but function the same way.

Here is the format:

• You basically do what we do at BNI.

• You give a 20 second snap shot of what you do to whole group.

• You then divide into smaller groups, depending on how many people present.

• At your small group you are timed and given 2 minutes to give a
better snap shot of what you do. • Most hand out business cards to people around their table as they talk.

• You pick a business card out of fish bowl and make time to visit with that person for a one on one to discuss further what you are both about.

The key here is one on ones. Very important. You build relationship and sooner than later you will get more new customers. Check with your local county chamber. It is usually free for this once a month meeting from 7:15-8:30 am. Each town has a County chamber as well as a local city chamber.

Naturally the chamber is always looking for you to join chamber, put I like "FREE" when I can get it. So make sure you ask is it "Free" to join the business networking meeting of local business owners.

If the chamber does not have one, suggest if they would be interested
in starting one, orrrrrrr if you could help them start one????? Great way to build reputation, credibility, and visibility!!!!! Also check out the chambers website for info and phone number.

Good Night and Success Be Yours,

Lynn Rothfuss
