7.20.08 Death & Dying. When a Team Member Passes Over

When A Team Member Passes Over - In Loving Memory of our Dear Friend & Volunteer Mentor, Ken Huggins.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello Friends,
This week, one of our most beloved volunteer mentors crossed the line - The BIG Line. Ken Huggins was feeling fine, just threw up something, and an hour and a half later was on the other side of the great divide.
Tonight, we will be sharing stories of remembrance of Ken. For those of you new to our weekly Sunday night live trainings, Ken - along with Dwight Baker - took care of our sound engineering behind the scenes.
And sometimes, we were totally blessed to have Ken Huggins speak up - too - with his newly evolving wisdom and caring as he has been learning and growing as one of our volunteer mentors.
Already we miss Ken's gentle and loving presence. Yet our shock is tempered by knowing he has gone into a lighter realm.
Please join us LIVE tonight for a GENERIC discussion of how we - as leaders and team members - respond when one of our very own crosses over.
Here is the call info.
One of our most esteemed volunteer mentors, who you hear every Saturday night on our weekly core training, Richard Dennis, shared his beautiful remembrance of how the team rallied and supported Richard and his wife Cheryl and other family members when their dear son Garth passed over last year.
Here is Richard's contribution to our conversation - via email
Our son Garth passed on June 10th, 2007.
The outpouring of support from Success Team Builders was a great
comfort to us. We had dozens and dozens and dozens of email and
letters. Some had made photos of Garth from a webpage to pay tribute
to him. Many shared their own pain and understanding.
It was really tough for us and, to be honest, it still is. I think of
him every day. I cry for our loss at some time almost every day.
It greatly touched us to have the support of those who knew Garth and
those who didn't, and especially to feel the empathy from so many in
our group.
And, of course, we had no insurance to cover Garth's funeral expenses.
You and others were very kind to help us with that expense.
It was all a great comfort to us. Cheryl & I are so grateful to
everyone in Success Team Builders.
And we're greatly saddened to now lose Ken Huggins. He had a huge
heart, and a great sense of humor. He was a Green's Green. I'll miss
him a lot.
Thanks, Pat.
Richard Dennis
PREVIEW OF UPCOMING CALL. BOOK SEGMENT
Snakes in Suits
When Psychopaths Go To Work
Paul Babiak, Ph.d. & Robert D. Hare, Ph. D.
This is an important book to know - as we have all been mislead by charming - but greedy, charismatic thieving con people. This type of person only wrecks havoc and hell wherever they go. Learn to identify them - in advance - for the safety and health of your personal life plus your business, team and company. .... Pat Crosby
http://Pat.SuccessIn10Steps.com
Let's say you're about to hire somebody for a position in your company. (Or recruit them onto your team. Or find them in your organization somewhere.) Your corporation wants someone who's fearless, charismatic, and full of new ideas. Candidate X is charming, smart, and has all the right answers to your questions. Problem solved, right? Maybe not. We'd like to think that if we met someone who was completely without conscience -- someone who was capable of doing anything at all if it served his or her purposes -- we would recognize it.
In popular culture, the image of the psychopath is of someone like Hannibal Lecter or the BTK Killer. But in reality, many psychopaths just want money, or power, or fame, or simply a nice car.
Where do these psychopaths go? Often, it's to the corporate world. Researchers Paul Babiak and Robert Hare have long studied psychopaths. Hare, the author of Without Conscience, is a world-renowned expert on psychopathy, and Babiak is an industrial-organizational psychologist. Recently the two came together to study how psychopaths operate in corporations, and the results were surprising. They found that it's exactly the modern, open, more flexible corporate world, in which high risks can equal high profits, that attracts psychopaths. They may enter as rising stars and corporate saviors, but all too soon they're abusing the trust of colleagues, manipulating supervisors, and leaving the workplace in shambles.
Snakes in Suits is a compelling, frightening, and scientifically sound look at exactly how psychopaths work in the corporate environment: what kind of companies attract them, how they negotiate the hiring process, and how they function day by day. You'll learn how they apply their "instinctive" manipulation techniques -- assessing potential targets, controlling influential victims, and abandoning those no longer useful -- to business processes such as hiring, political command and control, and executive succession, all while hiding within the corporate culture. It's a must read for anyone in the business world, because whatever level you're at, you'll learn the subtle warning signs of psychopathic behavior and be able to protect yourself and your company -- before it's too late.
Laura Lucas - Gaining My Personal Power - What I Have Learned From Series of Diamond Calls
LISTEN & DOWNLOAD HERE
Pat's Leadership Hour hosted by Laura Lucas and Rick Berry
" We Can lift Ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can be free! We can learn to fly! "
----Jonathan Livingston Seagull, by Richard Bach
A Month in Review and Reflection
The past 4 calls have covered a variety of topics, but like puzzles pieces fall into place with a custom fit
. I would like to share my thoughts and how it has impacted my life to this point.
I also hope that RicK Berry can share his thoughts and experiences.
1a - Beginning with Cynthia Breeds presentation about the products she uses and the benefits she is experiencing.
>>Cynthia helped me appreciate that some of my personal "2-week Trials" were not long enough to truly experience the potential benefits. I need to allow more time for an accurate measure and likewise when I suggest other people "try-it."
1b - In the second half-hour, Vicki Rodonus spoke about record keeping and Tax deductions.
>>Each year I get a little better with keeping track of receipts for tax-time itemization. As a develop a "PROFESSIONAL" mentality I realize that "I stop by the grocery while out to get office supplies; NOT stop by the office supply store while out getting groceries." These are miles I need to log and itemize for my taxes.
I took Vicki's advice and bought a small mileage log book to keep in the console of my vehicle at all times. I am learning to manage my money, records, and taxes like "the bigs dogs." I am developing the habits of a Professional.
Rick also reminded us of the resource available in Vitamark Bookstore :http://toolscart.com/comersus6f/store/comersus_listItems.asp
"Lower Your Taxes Big Time" by Sandy Botkin
2 - Richard Dennis spoke about time management and how he structures his day.
>>One of my greatest personal challenges is time management. So I was an eager listener. Although I am not an early morning person, I have managed to use my 30-minutes with my cup of coffee as time to respond to emails or prepare mailings before I start my necessities of getting ready for my J.O.B. This can free up more time in the evening to call leads, advertise, or network.
I have to admitt, I already liked index cards :) I appreciated Richard's suggestion of writing "to-do" items individually so he could sort, prioritize, and keep handy in a shirt pocket. In addition to keeping notes, I jotted down several topics and replay code # so as my monthly alotted sell-phone minutes allowed I could dial-in during my commute to/from my J.O.B.
Rick commented that time management and taking action are both things that can be developed as habits--and a new habit can be established in 21 days. Habits build Success.
3 - Sarah Thompson shared her daily method of operations and candidly spoke of her hestitations.
>>WOW!! Did I need to hear that I'm not the only one that gets "right-on-it" if it's to help someone else, BUT "drag-my-feet" if it's time to make my own calls (or action steps). I have to often remind myself that once I start I'll enjoy it & feel more energized (because I always do), but that if I put it off even for a "good" excuse I'll only feel bad and disappointed the rest of the week.
The tickler file system was also a "golden nugget" at the right time. I have been trying to keep all my notes in a steno notepad. And, honestly, I have misplaced a few customer-type leads (name/number). The morning after Sarah spoke I went out to get what I needed to create my own tickler-file. As it turns out, just in time, I got more MFF leads that week than ever before. Now having the file system did not generate the leads (that was my increased action with Direct Matches), but the universe provided a better system just in time to handle the increased information from leads.
Rick also pointed out that it's about PERSPECTIVE---You're helping the person you are calling, They NEED you to call.
As for the tickler file, Rick helped us appreciate that having the tickler file system "ready" to use, ATTRACTED the leads I was preparing for. There again the Law of Attraction is ALWAYS working.
4 - Then last week Lynn Rothfuss revealed her inner most thoughts and struggles as she grows as a Professional Network Marketer.
>>Lynn's willingness to be open and emotional is always a balancing-factor for me. My first instinct is NOT to share the inner conversations of doubt with others, then convince myself that I ALONE feel this way. On several occaissions Lynn has tought me that being open not only is therapeutic for myself, but allows others the opportunity to learn and share thru my openess. As this is not first-nature for me I require consistent and periodic reminders to keep me aware and balanced.
Rick shared the "Feel,Felt, Found" Principle
I understand how you feel. . .I felt. . . until I found. . .
On a final note, I would like to mention Pat Crosby, not for a recent presentation--but for her example.
>>I have the tendency to micro-manage things in an effort to ensure accuracy, dependability, and completion to my own expectations. Pat was able to walk-away (okay travel extensively) from the call, confident that Lynn and the other supports such as Rick, Dwight, Ken, and myself would keep the call going. Although the call bears her name & reflects upon her, she did not feel the need to select topics in advance or worry that things could "go-wrong." In allowing others to step-up and take the lead she provided us an opportunity to growth and for those of you who attend the call week after week, You can likely see the growth. Pat's is an example I will consciously make an effort to follow, and thereby allow others the maximum opportunity for growth.
Thank you for your kind attention and participation in the call tonight.
CALL NOTES
LYNN ROTHFUSS
Selling and Marketing to Women and How to Increase Your Share of the Biggest Market
Key Words
Multi Tasking
Feeling Understood
People First
I'm going to discuss stages 3-4-and 5. Like a rug, the cloth weaves together in an on going pattern.
This whole process that I explain takes place for the most part in one conversation, except for stages 4 when the women collaborates with others after your conversation is concluded. The 7th stage, the follow up and follow through happens on an on going basis.
Most women will not buy on the first visit, so don't be disillusioned or discouraged, and if they do, be pleasantly surprised!
Let me share with you easy tips to remember, they are peals of wisdom, think of them often in your approach to selling to women.
I welcome your feedback on how the information I presented these past few weeks is helping you. My email is diamond.maxine@gmail.com
These easy tips will help you stay focused on your customer.
Tip 1- If you sell a women once, you may already have sold her again and again and again.
Tip 2- Once you effectively market and sell to a women and retain them as customers, you'll have the tools to sell anything better to anyone!
Tip 3- Selling is a communication process. Communication means the transmission of ideas or information. It's more complex than just making a pitch or gathering information.
Tip 4- People's perception is their Reality!
Tip 5- You're in a Relationship Business, yes you are selling a product, the most important product is YOU!
The women is saying to her self, should I buy from this person? I can spend my money anywhere!
Through out this whole process the women is evaluating you and drinking in how you pay attention to her with your eyes, your words, nodding your head yes as you agree with what she is saying, as well as your other body language.
In Stage 3-
The women is searching to understand you.
To find out what the women wants is by asking, watching, and listening to them!
Focus on what motivates her. She is telling you as she talks. So Take notes.
Know before your meeting, your strategy to appeal to her.
Stage 4-
Share the knowledge. Make it simple for her to understand. Give a sample when you can and some written information for her to think about and share. She will collaborate with others close to her before she makes a final decision. Women talk, share stories, compare notes. Women are care takers, protect others.
Stage 5-
Fill the Need!
How does this benefit me, my family? Benefits, Benefits, Benefits, that's what ultimately drives the her to purchase. The marketing message must correspond with the sales experience.
To recap the Purchasing Style of a women is
Research
Relationship
More Attentive Service
More Follow Up
That's it for tonight folks.
Talk with you next week when I finish up with stages 6 and 7.
You won't to miss the final stages of selling and promoting to women your largest un-tapped market.
Be Well and Shine Bright
Lynn Rothfuss
LAURA LUCAS
1.) I found bright Green envelopes at Office Depot (about $5 for 50)
I decided that I would mail out my crave samples in these bright envelopes to make my package stand out in the mail when people receive it. I also wrote my Drink Tester Web site on the back, thinking that as this attention grabbing envelope gets handled by post office worker, they may take notice. In fact while having the envelopes weighed at the post office to determine correct postage--that's exactly what the postal clerk did. She asked me. . . so I simply answered her question then offer to share a sample with her. She accepted.
2.) I discovered for myself how "tiny url" works.
Going to "tinyurl.com"--it's a free service where you can put in a long url and it gives you a shorter one that will redirect to your long one. Long urls have greater chance for error, the shorter one makes it easier
3.) My sister gave me this idea--I am in the process of trying it to see how it turns out.
As a radio listener, my sister will frequently call in to the morning show to answer questions and win prizes. She suggested that I make a Crave pack to donate to the Radio station for them to give out as free gifts. This will also possibly get my product (Crave) and website announced on the local radio.
Just wanted to share with you.
Hoping your having a glorious and WARM day :)
