6.07.08 Laura Lucas Review the 5 LANGUAGES of LOVE

Learning the 5 Love Languages
Laura Lucas' review of the book
"The Five Love Languages"
by
Gary Chapman.

It is ESSENTIAL, in my opinion, to understand the different Personality Colors (types) to help us understand others and how to communicate most effectively. Just as there are 4 primary personality colors (types), there are 5 primary Love Languages. Understanding this Love Languages builds on that foundation of personality types by taking it a step further and identifying the "Language" in which the people in our lives communicate and express love.

At this time, I want to clarify 2 terms:

"Language" -any set or system of words or symbols as used in a more or less uniform fashion by a number of people, who are thus enabled to communicate intelligibly with one another.

>>Example: Saying "I love you," in American English to someone who only speaks French would NOT commuicate your intended message. It would NOT be understood, But saying "Je t'aime." (in French) would CLEARLY express the same message.

"Dialect" - a variety of a language that is distinguished from other varieties of the same language; a special variety of a language

>>Example: The primary language of the United States is American English. However people in Texas sound different than people in Boston: people in Minnesota sound different from people in Georgia. And yes, people in Kentucky speak "Bluegrass" American (**GRIN**)

So just as we want to communicate with others in a verbal Language that they can understand, we want to be aware of what Love Language they understand and communicate in that language. In that way we maximize our communication and receive the fullest response to our efforts.

Are they UNDERSTANDING what you're trying to express???

Why is this so important?? Love is a primary human emotional need. Increasing our understanding and "fluency" of Love will contribute to our own personal development and impact our relationship with others.

SO???? How does this apply to Business builders you may ask.

Often times, Your ability to focus and build a business from home is impacted by the significant people in your life. Their love and support can lift you up, and just as easily their nagging and criticisms can tear you down.

What if their lack of support or negative words were just a "SIGNAL" that they were feeling unloved? How you spend your time, what you talk about, and where you invest your money may be sending them the WRONG message if you are not aware of what love-language they speak. If you could ease the tension or gain their support, would that help you???

I say "Yes."
Learning more about the 5 Love Languages
is a prudent investment in yourself and your business.

Gary Chapman identifies 5 Primary Languages of Love, and acknowledges some variations of "dialect" within each language. He states that each person has 1 or 2 primary "love languages" they can understand or receive--if the love being offered is not in "their language," they will not be able to understand what's being offered. Similar to the example I mentioned earlier about speaking English to someone that only speaks French. How about if someone came up to you and said something in Japanese or Russian?? would you understand them?? most likely not. So when you can identify what language someone receives love in, you can effectively offer your love in a way that will be understood.

As I discuss each Love Language, you will likely start to reflect on yourself and others close to you in an attempt to identify the "Love Language." Please keep in mind that GIVING and RECEIVING go hand-in-hand; however, a person may "GIVE" or offer love in a language other than they "RECEIVE" in. This difference can be for a variety of reasons, but simply put is often a "learned" or "programed" way to express love.

1.) Words of Affirmation
2.) Quality Time
3.) Receiving Gifts
4.) Acts of Service
5.) Physical Touch

1.) Words of Affirmation:

"The tongue has the power of life and death." (Gary Chapman)

For persons with this primary love-language, they need to HEAR verbal compliments and words of appreciation. They need to hear that they look good, prepared a great meal, are appreciated for what they did do such as mowing the grass or working hard to provide a comfortable home, etc. They thrive on your encouragement and affirmation of their abilities. These must be genuine expressions, not just flattery in order to get what you want. Body language and tone of voice are key factors in expressing this love-language.

The book reminds us, "Love makes requests, not demands."

>>Note: In addition to clearly detailing each love-language the end of each chapter has wonderful, practical suggestions to help you become more "fluent" in each language.

2.) Quality Time:

"Togetherness."

For persons with this primary love-language, they require giving your undivided attention, not just your physical proximity--looking into their eyes, doing something with them that they value or enjoy doing. This love-language is notable for 2 significant dialects:

Dialect of Quality Conversation: Don't confuse this one with words-of-affirmation which focuses SAYING. Rather quality-conversation focuses on HEARING, listening sympathetically, asking questions with a genuine desire to understand thoughts/feelings/desires. Make eye contact. Don't "do" other things at the sametime. Listen for feelings. Observe body language. Refuse to interupt. Please note, quality-conversation involves not only sympathetic listening, but also SELF-REVELATION.

At this point Gary Chapman refers to 2 personality characteristics, DEAD SEA and BABBLING BROOK. We know this thru the Colors training as Self-Contained (Dead Sea) and Open (Babbling Brook). He also points out how these opposites often attract and are a 'good match' while dating--since one like to do all the talking and the other one is relieved not tohave to talk much at all. However, this 'fit' is short lived, especially in a marriage. The Open-person eventually crave more openness and sharing from the other; while the self-contained one suffers from information overload and may withdraw from truly listening.

Once again, the chapter offers some great concrete steps to help. Especially for self-contained personalities that are trying to communicate in this love-language.

Dialect of Quality Activities: Communicating in this dialect requires experiencing something together. You willing "do" or actively participate in an activity that the other person enjoys, and do it with a postive attitude. To communicate in this love-language, the activity must be something the other person values or enjoys. And remember, your attitude while participating in the activity is key.

Where will you FIND the time?? Gary Chapman honestly concludes there is NO time to be found--You must MAKE the time!!! Making time to express your love is as ESSENTIAL as "lunch and dinner."

3.) Receiving Gifts:

The gift itself is a symbol of a thought, a visual symbol of love. The gift can be purchased, found, or made. What matters is the thought, time, and/or effort that went into the gift. Cost is generally of little importance unless it is greatly out of line with what can be afforded.

For persons with a "savers" mentality, this may require an attitude change toward money to be an effective gift-giver. "Savers" will experience some emotional resistance to spending money, but investing in a significant other and fulfilling their love needs is well worth it.

Dialect of Gift of Self or Presence: With this dialect, your physical presence, your body, becomes the symbol of love.

4.) Acts of Service:

This love-language is expressed thru DOING; doing something you know will please the other person. The act will require thought, planning, time, effort, and energy such as cooking a meal, keeping a clean house, washing the car, mowing the grass, painting a room. When an activity they value is done with a postive attitude it express your love.

Gary Chapman points out that this may require a reexamination of stereotypes of roles. Out past experiences and programming can greatly impact our prospective, but if we truly want to express our love we may need to consider acts of service previously outside of our learned role.

**Note: "What we do for each other BEFORE marriage is no indication of of what we will do AFTER marriage."

5.) Physical Touch:

Physical touch is a powerful vehicle for communicating love. Holding hands, hugging, running your fingers thru their hair, kissing, embracing, and sexual intercourse are all examples of physical touch. Love touches can be simple and brief such as putting your hand on their shoulder or sitting close on the couch; other love touches may demand more time and attention such as massaging or intercourse. A slap in the face or, on the contrary, a hug can communicate your feelings to most people; but, if their primary love-language is touch it "shouts" your message. If touch is their primary love-language, nothing is more important than holding them as they cry. Your touch communicates you care.

Dialect of Sexual Intercourse: Note that having a strong desire for sexual intercourse does not necessarily make it the primary love-language.

Discover YOUR Primary Love-Language with these 3 Questions:

1.) What does your loved-one do or fail to do that hurts you most deeply? The opposite of what hurts you most is probably your love language.

2.) What have you most often requested of your loved-one? The thing you have most often requested is likely the thing that would make you feel most loved.

3.) In what way do you regularly express love to your loved-one? Your method of expressing love may be an indication that that would also make you feel loved.

Different dialects are the result of each individual being influenced by personality type (color), parents, perception, emotions, needs, and desires.

One of the clearest clues to a primary love-language is listening to the person's criticisms about behavior--"You don't appreciate me," "You never spend any time with me." "You never listen to me," "You never bring me flowers anymore," "Where were you when I needed you?" Often times these hurtful phrases are cries for love and attention-now you have a tool to translate them and thereby understand them.

Love is a CHOICE. It can not be coerced. Each of us must decide daily to Love.

This review is a mere highlight of the wonderful nuggets of valuable information contained in the book. The author has several versions more target to specific audiences, such a Married Couples, Men's Edition, of Children, of Teenagers, for Singles as well as other titles too numerous to mention.

JUST A FEW TEAM BRAGS THIS WEEK

1. Report from Cheryl Henderson. GO CHERYL!

Hi Pat,

I’ve already told Lynn most of what I’m excited about and she suggested that I share it with you. Now, let me see,

1. I’m proud of myself because I spoke to 4 people about Mentoring For Free and suggested that they download the e-book before they decide to work with any particular company. It was a natural conversation, without any stress (on me!) and made me feel good.

2. I have been using the skills that I’ve learned from Mentoring for Free and from you to make my personal life better while I grow my business. I’ve been working on listening better and trying to understand why someone else’s behavior really gets under my skin. The benefits that I’ve reaped so far was demonstrated this week during the midst of the chaos of my donations to the Salvation Army, cleaning the house in preparation for the new furniture and my husband. Because I have been working on listening more than speaking, my husband became quite Blue with me and told me a lot about himself and his personal demons. I know that this wouldn’t have happened in such a positive way without the skills that I’ve been studying over the past six months.

3. I forgot to mention this to Lynn, but I purchased a new domain name (I know I’m addicted – LOL!), but this time it’s for keeps. Both you and Lynn have been patiently explaining the need to brand myself. So, my new domain name is CherylCHenderson.com. I’m using it on Facebook (in case you’re there) and will be using it on my new advertisements. I have long avoided using my name because I was hiding my profession from others. Now, I’m more secure in the knowledge of how the business works and I’m not afraid to come out of the shadows.

4. I am reading the book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind – Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth by T. Harv Eker. It is really helping me delve deeper into my “financial blueprint” and understand some of the choices that I’ve made. This is helping me to revise my financial blueprint.

So, I guess I’m really excited about finally turning into the person that I always knew I could be if I gave myself the chance.

Thanks and lots of love,

Cheryl Henderson-Khalid

CALL NOTES.
Points from Phil Snelman's Interview with Lynn Rothfuss
4.27.08
(Note: These are key points, and NOT a verbatim transcript.)

RESOURCE: Lassie's internet marketing program for $77 (NOT $5077... YES, just $77!)
http://freevideomarketingonline.com/

Key Points: Vitamark & Mentoring For Free with Big Al Tom Schreiter is a MLM DREAM.

Q. What is one of your greatest lesson you have learned in MLM?
A. Spending too much time with the wrong people. I love and respect all people, but to build a business, you must give your time to those who can follow - and do follow - instructions.

Q. How did you turn weaknesses into strengths.
A. Starting new project before finishing other project.

Example: People INTENDED to make a video who took the training... but got too busy with other things in life... so video project got put on the back burner.

IF you say you are going to do something.... it is important to DO it.... once you say you will do it.

Q. What is your personal growth process to turn your weaknesses into strengths.
A. My spiritual aspect of my life.... is my key.... everyday, I remind myself that my business is a means to an end. My spiritual life comes first. Then my family. My business comes after these things. My business also provides me an opportunity to help other people as well. My prayer life helps me tremendously.

Q. What do you like most about Vitamark?
A. After meeting Michael and reading the ebook, I liked that Tom Schreiter was in the company. Big Al Tom Schreiter was always very encouraging to me in workshops. In 7 years or so I knew him, he never indicated he was in a network marketing company... and he always encouraged me in whatever company I was doing.
I also came to realize that co-owner David Bertrand was a man of great integrity. I also came to know the caliber of the Vitamark management team. These people are looking for ways to award the network more than any other company in the industry. Their #1 priority is to reward the distributors as much as possible. No other company can say that.

I appreciate that I am still getting payouts from my previous companies. I bring them about $10million a year in volume, and they pay me only $5000. US/month. That same volume in Vitamark would be about $25,000. US/month. That is quite a difference.

Q What is tax advantage of owning your own business in UK?
A. Cost of gas here is approximately $12/gallon. The bulk of that is tax. UK is one of the highest tax rates in world. My wife does my book-keeping and tax returns.... it IS a big advantage to own your own business... I don't know nitty-gritty - but it is a BIG tax advantage.
For instance, going on the team cruise is mainly a tax advantage.

Q. Do you talk with your mentor regularly? How many mentors do you have?
A. I usually talk to Michael most days of the week. I speak regularly with Lassie, my internet marketing coach. It is very important to talk with your upline leadership team. In my experience, most people do not keep in touch with their upline leadership.
This upline-downline communication would help the whole team.

Q .When the downline calls the upline, it encourages everyone. What happens if you don't like the mentoring you are given?
A. I had some team members who were not having the results they wanted. So we did a team training on how to improve what we were doing.
If your sponsor cannot help you or is not active or capable, go further upline or to a cross-line leader.

Q. What is your humanitarian consideration outside of Vitamark.
A. My spiritual part is most important to me. My non-working hours are devoted to my spiritual study and work. We believe things are getting better, so I give my time to helping people learn about the Bible.

Q. Your wife gives you great support.
A. Yes, it is a blessings.

Lynn: Winston Churchill quote is on my wall: "Never. Never. NEVER GIVE UP!" That keeps me going - especially if I get a little depressed.

Phil: Yes, we must ASK for help... especially when we are feeling down.

Lynn. Yes, especially if we have been kicked by life and feeling down... we need help to get picked up.

Pat Crosby & Lynn Rothfuss - Duplicating The Masters.... Travel & See Your Downline

LISTEN TO THIS CALL HERE

Hi Team,

Wow!

Join us tonight as 2 globe-trotting distributors share the lessons learned on the grand adventure of travelling and see the downline worlds.

Lynn Rothfuss & I will share the lessons learned, truths unveiled, and skills developed on our mega travels.

Two of the greatest networkers in the world - Tom "Big Al" Shreiter, and Richard Brook (Mach 2 With Your Hair On Fire), both subscribe to the leadership style of travelling and visiting with their team members in their own back yards.

So I thought I would duplicate this strategy... especially as it also co-incided with getting out of the deep-freeze NY mountain winter this year :)

So shortly after the first freezing ice storm, I set out from the NY mountains on Dec 10.

1st stop: NJ to visit with Lynn Rothfuss & John Maeder.
We learned to use Flip Video cameras, made videos, pal-ed and pow-wowed. Bonded, and strengthened our relationships.

2nd stop: Charlottesville, VA - Home of Art Jonak's alma mater, and one of his mentors, John Milton Fogg. We did a phone interview with John, co-hosted with Richard Dennis. Good thing, too! The icy blasts that night interferred repeatedly with my phone connection - so Richard and John kept it going.
Leadership Lesson: TEAMWORK WINS :)
Thanks to team member Marge for hosting us so generously :) Thanks, Marge!

3rd stop: Monticello, FL. 3 days with Richard Dennis & family. How inspiring to meet a green master in his home lair. We talked a lot, (yep - a green talked a lot) and practiced making videos. Got one online so far....
Picking the brain of a master marketer like Richard (creator of Dead Doctors Don't Lie) is .... well.... words fail me ..... let's just say he is beyond brilliant. I am learning to LOVE learning how greens think!
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1444515281852918537&hl=en

4th stop: Miami, FL & The Caribbean SUCCESS TEAM BUILDERS CRUISE. WOW! What a week of learning and growing with our incredible team mates - from established leaders to those just starting out.
Learned from Dwight Baker more about Windows Movie Maker.... see movies here.

5th stop: PERU. My WHY is to travel on spiritual journeys. Visited Lima, Lake Titicaca, and Machu Picchu. Met some would-be networkers... and shared Success in 10 Steps and mentoring material.
Put together a workshop
http://ForgivenessGold.blogspot.com

6th stop://Back to Charlottesville, VA. This time, joined by Lynn Rothfuss. We interviewed John Milton Fogg after a delightful extended lunch with John & Family.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=FJUaqCmGn-g&feature=user

7th stop: Laura Lucas - Your Friend In KY. We made more videos with Laura, and learned LOTS of new supersoy dishes. And had LOTS of fun getting to know each other better.
Baby Goats http://youtube.com/watch?v=ejTdU9N039c
SuperSoy Chili Lesson http://youtube.com/watch?v=L_0p-aBgubo&feature=related

8th stop: Cheryl Henderson & Family in Easton, PA. See our great video showcasing Future Diamond Cheryl as a home-biz home-schooling Mom - with family.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=T902QmDuPAU&feature=user

9th stop: Back to Lynn Rothfuss home in NJ. A few days of recapping, laughing, sharing, and brainstorming new options to develop ourselves personally and professionally - and assist our teams to do the same.

So now, I am going to use Diamond Phil Snelman's success strategy and upload the videos to http://Heyspread.com

I am busy catching up with posting the call replays of the weeks I was on the road. Right now, you can hear Laura Lucas & Rick Berry's conversation on Lessons Learned from the Diamond leaders on the above link.

Laura Lucas - Gaining My Personal Power - What I Have Learned From Series of Diamond Calls

LISTEN & DOWNLOAD HERE

Pat's Leadership Hour hosted by Laura Lucas and Rick Berry
" We Can lift Ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can be free! We can learn to fly! "
----Jonathan Livingston Seagull, by Richard Bach
A Month in Review and Reflection
The past 4 calls have covered a variety of topics, but like puzzles pieces fall into place with a custom fit
. I would like to share my thoughts and how it has impacted my life to this point.

I also hope that RicK Berry can share his thoughts and experiences.

1a - Beginning with Cynthia Breeds presentation about the products she uses and the benefits she is experiencing.

>>Cynthia helped me appreciate that some of my personal "2-week Trials" were not long enough to truly experience the potential benefits. I need to allow more time for an accurate measure and likewise when I suggest other people "try-it."

1b - In the second half-hour, Vicki Rodonus spoke about record keeping and Tax deductions.

>>Each year I get a little better with keeping track of receipts for tax-time itemization. As a develop a "PROFESSIONAL" mentality I realize that "I stop by the grocery while out to get office supplies; NOT stop by the office supply store while out getting groceries." These are miles I need to log and itemize for my taxes.

I took Vicki's advice and bought a small mileage log book to keep in the console of my vehicle at all times. I am learning to manage my money, records, and taxes like "the bigs dogs." I am developing the habits of a Professional.

Rick also reminded us of the resource available in Vitamark Bookstore :http://toolscart.com/comersus6f/store/comersus_listItems.asp

"Lower Your Taxes Big Time" by Sandy Botkin

2 - Richard Dennis spoke about time management and how he structures his day.

>>One of my greatest personal challenges is time management. So I was an eager listener. Although I am not an early morning person, I have managed to use my 30-minutes with my cup of coffee as time to respond to emails or prepare mailings before I start my necessities of getting ready for my J.O.B. This can free up more time in the evening to call leads, advertise, or network.

I have to admitt, I already liked index cards :) I appreciated Richard's suggestion of writing "to-do" items individually so he could sort, prioritize, and keep handy in a shirt pocket. In addition to keeping notes, I jotted down several topics and replay code # so as my monthly alotted sell-phone minutes allowed I could dial-in during my commute to/from my J.O.B.

Rick commented that time management and taking action are both things that can be developed as habits--and a new habit can be established in 21 days. Habits build Success.

3 - Sarah Thompson shared her daily method of operations and candidly spoke of her hestitations.

>>WOW!! Did I need to hear that I'm not the only one that gets "right-on-it" if it's to help someone else, BUT "drag-my-feet" if it's time to make my own calls (or action steps). I have to often remind myself that once I start I'll enjoy it & feel more energized (because I always do), but that if I put it off even for a "good" excuse I'll only feel bad and disappointed the rest of the week.

The tickler file system was also a "golden nugget" at the right time. I have been trying to keep all my notes in a steno notepad. And, honestly, I have misplaced a few customer-type leads (name/number). The morning after Sarah spoke I went out to get what I needed to create my own tickler-file. As it turns out, just in time, I got more MFF leads that week than ever before. Now having the file system did not generate the leads (that was my increased action with Direct Matches), but the universe provided a better system just in time to handle the increased information from leads.

Rick also pointed out that it's about PERSPECTIVE---You're helping the person you are calling, They NEED you to call.

As for the tickler file, Rick helped us appreciate that having the tickler file system "ready" to use, ATTRACTED the leads I was preparing for. There again the Law of Attraction is ALWAYS working.

4 - Then last week Lynn Rothfuss revealed her inner most thoughts and struggles as she grows as a Professional Network Marketer.

>>Lynn's willingness to be open and emotional is always a balancing-factor for me. My first instinct is NOT to share the inner conversations of doubt with others, then convince myself that I ALONE feel this way. On several occaissions Lynn has tought me that being open not only is therapeutic for myself, but allows others the opportunity to learn and share thru my openess. As this is not first-nature for me I require consistent and periodic reminders to keep me aware and balanced.

Rick shared the "Feel,Felt, Found" Principle

I understand how you feel. . .I felt. . . until I found. . .

On a final note, I would like to mention Pat Crosby, not for a recent presentation--but for her example.

>>I have the tendency to micro-manage things in an effort to ensure accuracy, dependability, and completion to my own expectations. Pat was able to walk-away (okay travel extensively) from the call, confident that Lynn and the other supports such as Rick, Dwight, Ken, and myself would keep the call going. Although the call bears her name & reflects upon her, she did not feel the need to select topics in advance or worry that things could "go-wrong." In allowing others to step-up and take the lead she provided us an opportunity to growth and for those of you who attend the call week after week, You can likely see the growth. Pat's is an example I will consciously make an effort to follow, and thereby allow others the maximum opportunity for growth.

Thank you for your kind attention and participation in the call tonight.

CALL NOTES from LAURA LUCAS

Product Highlight: Appetizer Diet Cookies & Shakes

2 Products that can be used together or separately.

The Appetizer Diet Shake comes in powdered form, ready to mix with liquid; Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate Flavors offered. The Appetizer Diet Cookie comes individually wrapped and ready to eat; offered in Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin.

"Appetizer" Diet- So named because these products are great tools in managing one's appetite.

By using the product as an "appetizer" 15-45 minutes prior to eating a meal, You fill up with fiber and protien and reduce your hunger & the amount consumed at meal time--You don't need to sacrafice the feeling of satisfaction and fullness while " on a Diet."

However, the products' use and benefits are not just limited to before meals. The shakes and cookies can fit into whatever Healthy Eating Program You choose to follow. Additionally, the products are not limited to DIETERS only, they are healthy snack and meal options for ALL ages. The cookies in particular are a ready snack, especially for children.

I personally love the CONVIENCE of the individually wrapped cookies, I can keep several in my bag, my desk at work, in the console of my vehicle--so when ever hunger starts to creep up on me, I have a healthy alternative to vending machines and fast-food drive-thrus.

Appetizer Diet Shake--2 g Fiber, 21 g Protien, & more. . .

The shake features whey protien concentrate; whey protien is comprised of every essential amino acid. Amino acids help the body convert FAT to MUSCLE. Whey protien encourages production of glutathione for immune system health and effect blood sugar level. And not stopping there, components of whey protien aid the release of appetite surpressing hormones.

The shake also provides 2 grams of fiber. Fiber aides in appetite satisfaction, slows digestion, impacts cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, and metabolism.

Just add one scoop to 12 oz cold water and shake/mix vigorously.

If using as a meal replacement Dr. Dicqie Fuller advises combining shake with another protien--such as mixing with milk or soy-milk, or in combination with a complete protien like an egg (not necessarily mix together, just eaten at the same time **grin**).

Appetizer Diet Cookies--120-140 calories, 8 g Fiber, 5 g Protien, & more. . .

The cookies offer the nutritional support, energy, and fullness of traditional sports bars with the added benefit of fiber and generally fewer calories. The cookies contain both soluble and insoluble fiber; they also contain both soy and whey protien. The cookies are produced with organic sugar and low saturated fats (no hydrogenated fats). Additionally, the cookies contain 30-35% of the Daily Value of Vitamins A,C,D,E,B1,B2,B12, Niacin, B6, Biotin, Zinc, Pantothenic Acid, and Iron; plus calcium.

TONIGHT: Lynn Rothfuss co-anchors with Rick Berry.

NOTES FROM LYNN ROTHFUSS:

Hi every one and good evening.

I enjoy sharing a story and poems to illustrate a point. My most favorite poem, is one I received by fax in 2001.

The poem entitled" The Masters" is so powerful and every word has special meaning for me.

Here's hoping it becomes one of your favorite, because as you speak this, you begin to realize you are taking to your soul and spirit. You are speaking your reality out loud.

The Masters

Today is a great day and I have the opportunity to show up as the best me ever!

I am an irresistible magnet with the absolute power to attract into my life

everything that I desire. My life is a huge success!

I am committed to constant and never-ending personal improvement,

and I take massive action steps to create the future, as I want it.

I will do whatever it takes to become the winner I know I can be.

My beliefs create my reality! I choose robust health, abundant wealth,
constant happiness and eternal love. I attract, heal and positively
influence the lives of people in my community.

I think big thoughts, relish small pleasures and handle all setbacks gracefully.

I give thanks for the opportunity to serve humanity and I willingly accept
the rewards being sent to me by an abundant universe.

I am deeply gratefulfor all I create and receive. My life is now in total balance and I am a MASTER!

WOW! I don't know about you, but every time I read this I get the chills.

This is so powerful as a daily guide!

So, how does one become a Master?

When ever I share I find it helpful to connect the dots and also show a wayto do the thing I'm talking about.

To become a Master, one way is to be part of a master mind group. MichaelDlouhy shares his 30 day cleanse with every one willing to commit to their personalgrowth every Wednesday at 3 PM and again 8 PM.

I was on the 30 day cleanse and being blue got unfocused and jumped off.

I find it's now time to connect back to the cleanse, my personal growth and business need the infusion.

So for those of you not on the 30 day mental cleanse and those of you, like me, who were on and jumped off, I encourage you to hop back on.

CALL NOTES LYNN ROTHFUSS BNI & AM BIZ Lynn Rothfuss Sunday February 3, 2008 Promoting and Marketing in your Local Market

BNI Business Network International
Business Word of Mouth Referral System

The benefits that BNI have taught me is:

1. How to talk and share what products and services I offer, since
Vitamark has 40 products, each week I describe the benefits of one product a week.

2. You give a 60 second snap shot of who you are, what type of
referral your looking for, the benefits of your product or service.

3. Has taught me to know more about all my products, and what the benefits are for each product.

4. You don't sell to chapter members, you teach them what your looking
for as a good referral for your business

5. You learn to do one on ones over a cup of coffee or lunch. Very
Important. The one on ones, build the relationship that leads to more business.

Bottom Line:
This is more about Educating and Servicing your future customers than hard selling them. Every one has a sphere of influence of 250 people. When you educate, build a relationship, many of members do become a customer and refer to not only the 250 people they know, but every one they meet along life's way.

We carry on us at all times a vinyl business card holder with all of
our members cards to hand out.

AM BIZ- Another Business Networking Group
Through the County Chamber of Commerce or Local City Chamber of Commerce.

AM BIZ in Warren County where I live, is run by our Warren County Chamber of
Commerce. They might have a different name than AM BIZ, but function the same way.

Here is the format:

• You basically do what we do at BNI.

• You give a 20 second snap shot of what you do to whole group.

• You then divide into smaller groups, depending on how many people present.

• At your small group you are timed and given 2 minutes to give a
better snap shot of what you do. • Most hand out business cards to people around their table as they talk.

• You pick a business card out of fish bowl and make time to visit with that person for a one on one to discuss further what you are both about.

The key here is one on ones. Very important. You build relationship and sooner than later you will get more new customers. Check with your local county chamber. It is usually free for this once a month meeting from 7:15-8:30 am. Each town has a County chamber as well as a local city chamber.

Naturally the chamber is always looking for you to join chamber, put I like "FREE" when I can get it. So make sure you ask is it "Free" to join the business networking meeting of local business owners.

If the chamber does not have one, suggest if they would be interested
in starting one, orrrrrrr if you could help them start one????? Great way to build reputation, credibility, and visibility!!!!! Also check out the chambers website for info and phone number.

Good Night and Success Be Yours,

Lynn Rothfuss

CALL NOTES

LAURA LUCAS ON SUPERSOY

Product Highlight: Super Soy

What is soy?? The soybean is considered a superfood, low in saturead fat. A super or complete food because it contains fat, protien, and carbohydrates, as well as offers all nine of the essential amino acids, calcium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, thiamin, riboflavin, and niacin.

Why Soy?? Probably most popularized as a protein alternative for Vegetarians. Soy is the answer to several concerns: low cost, high protien, low-saturated fat, low-cholesterol, high-fiber, low-sodium, lactose-free source of calcium, and fewer potential toxins.

"Health" magazine (April 2007 issue) suggested, "Add one meatless meal a week. Less meat means less saturated fat--and fewer toxins like dioxin, DDT, and PCBS."

Benefits: Research is on-going that soy can benefit the human in body in various ways:

*assist with cardiovascular function
*support gallbladder function
*promote optimal blood sugar and cholesterol levels
*source of calcium to promote bone health
*anti-cancer effects
*promote cognitive function and brain healing

(sources included http://mayoclinic.com/health/soy/NS_patient-soy,

http://wikipedia.org/wiki/soybean,

http://ejnet.org/dioxin/#what.

More can be found by Googling "Soy" and other key words.)

Super Soy from Vitamark

Vitamark provides a high quality soy product that is processed using technologies that use "water" extraction and proper temperatures to insure the highest quality. Offer 4 non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) products: Super Soy Onion Broth, Super Soy Beef Strips, Super Soy Chicken Strips, Super Soy Ground Beef.

The beef and chicken Super Soy products are so named, not because they contain beef or chicken, but rather that thay have been texturized or shaped to resemble the name-sake. This is especially helpful for cooks not familiar with cooking with tofu or other soy products. This also assists in maintaining the "look" or visual impact of traditional dishes.

The Super Soy product comes in a dehydrated form, that requires reconstitution with liquid. You may simply use water, however flavoring the water prior to reconstituting is recommended; such as SuperSoy Onion broth, bullion, soy sauce, mustard powder, or teriyaki sauce to mention a few.

Like with most great recipes, a little experimentation
will find the right combination to please your palate.

Super Soy Ground vs Ground Beef Comparison

Recipe for Beginners

Super-Soy Chili

1 cup dry super soy ground beef
1 cup hot water
1/2 tsp Super Soy Onion broth powder (or may use 1 beef bullion cube)
1 can Mexican chili beans
2 cans diced tomatoes (green chili optional)
2-3 8oz cans tomatoes sauce
1 small - medium onion diced
1 pkg Chili seasoning
1 small green pepper diced
salt/pepper/sugar to taste

Saute onion and green peppers in pot (use spray oil or olive oil to coat pot).

Heat water to boiling, dissolve onion broth powder (or bullion cube), stir in super soy, let sit a few minutes.

Once onion and pepper are cooked (beginning to soften), fluff super soy with fork then add to pot

Add chili beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and package of chili seasoning and stir thoroughly. Heat to mild boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20 - 30 minutes. Add salt, sugar, or pepper to taste. (Note = sugar will cut the "tanginess" of the tomatoes).
I find this recipe pleases meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. In my experience, most meat-eaters don't even notice the difference.-Laura

***note this recipe is also good for camping or other situations where limited cold storage is a concern.

CALL NOTES FROM LYNN ROTHFUSS

10 COMMANDMENTS OF LEADERSHIP

In a Leadership Role one of the many benefits is becoming thick skinned, not hardened and bitter.

Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason, things just happen.

People act out of emotion, where they are stuck in their personal injury, a wound that they refuse to let go, and have yet to experience new personal growth in place of wounded ego.

NEVER TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY!

Keep on Keeping on! Sometimes leaders even take the blame giving the other person a chance to cool down and rethink situation.

I myself take the Spiritual Approach. The Universe is teaching the lesson to be learned.

This evening I'm empowering you! Giving you permission to take what ever I say or write and modify to fit your needs for you personally or your down-line.

The highest compliment I can receive is that that you take what I wrote and said and made it work for you.

And now ................The 10 Commandments of Leadership

1. People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered.......................Love them anyway!

2. If you do good.....people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives..........Do good anyway!

3. If you are successful....You win false friends and true enemies.........succeed anyway!

4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow........do good anyway!

5. Honesty and Frankness make you vulnerable........be honest and frank anyway!

6. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can get shot down by the littlest people with the littlest ideas.............think Big anyway!

7. People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs.........fight for the underdog anyway!

8. What you spend years building, may be destroyed overnight..........build anyway!

9. People really need help, but may attack you if you "do" help them.........help them anyway!

10. Give the world the best you've got and you'll get kicked in the teeth..........give the best you've got anyway!

Lynn Rothfuss
January 27, 2008

Enjoy the Poem
Who ever wrote it knew a thing or two about life!

I found this years ago, enlarged it poster size for my classroom.

As the examples of the poem appeared into my every day class room life, I would take the time to explain each commandment in detail.

It worked, the Universe allowed me to be present to see so many grow up into successful adults.

Marketing to Women
Lynn Rothfuss January 27,2008

Pat Crosby Leadership Hour

The 6th and 7th Stages of Marketing and promoting to Women

6th Stage- Don't close a women come to the agreement and commitment.

The women feels good about this commitment and now purchases the product at this point.

Remember the women wants a sense of belonging, feeling of being understood.

The first 5 stages your building a relationship. You never build a relationship and sell at the same time!

Leave asking for the commitment, to the 6th stage we are now in.

Here is a good sample to bring her to the agreement:

"I am certain that this is the best product for you. I just want to make sure you are happy with every thing we've covered."

"Is there anything further you need to go over or shall I move forward?"

"How do you want to order by phone or over the Internet. I have both now we can do this first order together."

As you walk the women through the process remind her that a good option is auto refill, saves time and the advantage of having product arrive before product runs out, that there is no interruption with continued results.

If the women prefers to do it another time, ask permission to follow up to make sure her experience was a good one and to help with any glitches that may arise.

7th Stage- Follow up and Follow Through

Research shows when you meet the expectations of women, you exceed the expectations of men.

Women are twice as likely as men to make referrals. Women spend 30% more time shopping.

Women also take longer, need more input, expect more attentive service, require more follow up!

Plan to be there beyond sale!!

  • Send Thank You Note ( see below a sample of note)
  • If you know birthdays, anniversary..... send thinking of you cards
  • Send holiday cards just to keep in touch.( This one activity alone, gained 2,000 faithful customers for one salesman)
  • See her again, follow up with another product. Up Sell her!
  • Remember all this activity is tax deduct able, save receipts.

Example:

"Let me share with you the benefits of this product and see if there is a right fit for you. "

"I'd also like your feed back on how it's working for you - we have had so many great testimonies on this product."

A good sample is a few packets of Crave, Vita one, cookies and free product we get with every 100 BP on autoship.

Develop your marketing efforts in a manageable framework. Keep files and records to measure your impact and results.

Selling to a women: What it means to you:

  • Reward of her business
  • Her Loyalty
  • Large number of referrals (Ask her for referrals, every person has a sphere of influence of 250 people)

Example of Follow Up letter:

Dear Ms. Crosby,

Thank you for the opportunity to provide my services with Vitamark Products. I am confident that our products and exceptional service will exceed your expectations. I'm devoted to the satisfaction of my customers, so please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.

I appreciate your referrals should you know of a loved one, neighbor, friend, or colleague who would benefit from my service.

Again thank you, Ms. Crosby. I will be in touch on a periodic basis, just to check in.

Sincerely,

Lynn Rothfuss

What Women To Target Market
  • Minority Markets
  • Ethnic Markets
  • Baby Boomers
  • Seniors

My suggestion is you may type this letter, but when addressing the envelope use blue ink to hand write name and address. This tiny detail, suggests a warmer approach.

The purpose of promoting and marketing to women is to increase your sales volume, which in turn pays you your commission bonus check every week. Our affiliates are also part of our customer base with 3-5% being builders, everyone else, the other 95% will also purchase your products. We get paid on total volume no matter how deep.
